the scientist

Baby and mama in 2010

Hi!  I'm Anandi.  I'm also a mom, wife, dog person, software project manager, jewelry maker, former research scientist, craft supply hoarder and lover of fresh new office supplies.

Welcome to my papercrafting lab notebook!   I'm documenting my journey as a new card maker, and admirer of paper craftery.   I'm not yet a scrapbooker, but I sure do have a lot of supplies and tools, so who knows where these experiments will take me.

I fell in love with the idea, lingo, and technical methods of science when I was at Caltech for college.  But I discovered that a life in research science was not for me.  Still, I like to bring some of my old scientist life into my crafty pursuits.    I'll try to write up my methods and materials for papercrafting as precisely as I learned to record my organic chemistry experiments.

You can find my geeky and personalized metal creations at Anandi's Laboratory.  You can also read my personal blog, House of Peanut, if you're so inclined.

I like to collect supplies, so that when inspiration strikes, I've got all the ingredients at my disposal.  There's nothing worse than getting into the crafty zone and then figuring out you can't realize your vision because you're missing some critical widget.  Next thing you know, that project has been tossed aside and you find it under your desk the next time you do a major cleanup.

Thanks for stopping by, and leave me a comment to let me know you were here!
